About the Mission:
Our second trip to Techiman, Ghana brought many patients , we screened over 300 patients but were only able to do 78 complex surgeries. We donated essential medical equipment to complete the operating rooms, and held educational lectures for the doctors and nurses.
We conducted a Sickle Cell Screening clinic for over 450 mothers and babies. The collaborative efforts of this clinic resulted in a research article co-authored by members of Team Kids, Holy Family doctors and others, the findings were published in the American Journal of Hematology.
