Operation International delivers $50,000 worth of food, clothes, and educational material to orphans in Uganda, and new equipment to our base in Rakai, Uganda

As bad as the effect of COVID-19 was on the population in the USA, its effect on children and orphans in Uganda was much worse.  Due to the lockdown, many of the orphans were left without access to food, clothe, or school supplies.  With that in mind, and despite the restrictions created by the pandemic, OI maintained its support to the orphans in 3 orphanages in Rakai, Uganda by providing them with food on regular bases.  However other needs couldn’t be met due to the lack of supplies in the market in Uganda.

In March of 2020 Operation International shipped a container Uganda with these needed supplies, and in October 2020, the chairman of Operation International Dr. Medhat Allam traveled to Uganda to distribute the contents of the container and provide the orphans with emotional support.

The container contained several thousand pieces of clothing, shoes, school supplies, and recreational items. The container also included many needed supplies and modern equipment for the hospital to allow the hospital to provide care for victims of the COVID-19.   This video shows some of the supplies being trucked to one of the orphanages.  Despite the pandemic OI continues its work around the globe.
